Emergency electrician
Some things should not wait for a convenient slot. A burning smell, a warm or discoloured outlet, sparking, or power lost to part of the house with no explanation are all a fault in progress rather than an inconvenience.
What counts
A burning or fishy smell with no obvious source, an outlet or switch plate that is warm or discoloured, visible sparking, and a loss of power to part of the house that no breaker explains.
Call rather than book online for any of them, and say which it is when you ring, because it changes the order we work in rather than the price. Burning smells and hot outlets sets out what we look for, and partial power outage covers the case where half the house is dead and the rest is fine.
What does not usually need an out-of-hours visit: a single dead outlet, a light that has stopped working, or a breaker that trips once and resets cleanly. Those are worth a booked visit, and tripping breaker diagnosis explains why the once-only version still deserves looking at.
How a call runs
Smell, heat, sparking or dead circuits. That one answer decides how fast we come and what we bring.
Unplug it and switch off that circuit if you can identify the breaker. Removing the load stops the heating immediately.
The visit is priced before we set off, and the out-of-hours premium is stated on the phone rather than on the invoice.
At night the priority is safety. Where a proper repair can wait until morning at lower cost, we say so.
