A level 2 charger draws 32 to 48 amps for hours at a time. Code treats a continuous load differently from a kettle, so the circuit is sized above the draw rather than to it.

Load management shares an existing circuit and costs a fraction, which is often the better answer if the car is the only new load you are adding.

Most of the day where the run is short and inside. A run to a detached garage means trenching, and that turns a one-day job into a two-day one.
