01 1. About These Terms
These Terms of Service govern electrical work provided by Buffalo Electrician ("we", "us", "our"). By requesting a quote, booking a visit or accepting work from us, you ("customer", "you") agree to them.
They are updated from time to time. The version in effect on the date of your work is the version that applies, and material changes are published on this page.
02 2. Electrical Work We Provide
We carry out residential and commercial electrical work, including panel and service upgrades, rewiring, lighting, outlets and switches, EV charger installation, standby generators, fault finding, repair and inspection.
All work is performed by a licensed electrician. Work that requires a permit is permitted and inspected. We do not carry out work that falls outside electrical licensing, and we will say so rather than attempt it.
03 3. Quotes and Pricing
Quotes are written and itemized, showing parts, labour, the permit and the inspection as separate lines. A quote is based on what was visible at the time of the visit.
Where opening a wall, a ceiling or a panel reveals a condition that could not reasonably have been seen beforehand, we stop, tell you what we have found, and price the additional work separately before continuing. Nothing beyond the agreed scope is carried out without your agreement.
Any figure published on this website is an example range for guidance. It is not a quote and does not bind either party.
04 4. Permits and Inspection
Where the work requires a permit, we file it and book the inspection. The permit fee appears as its own line on the quote.
The certificate or inspection record produced at the end belongs to you and is provided to you. We keep a copy; you are not dependent on us for it.
05 5. Workmanship and Materials
Our workmanship is warranted for the period stated on your quote. Materials and equipment carry the manufacturer warranty supplied with them, which we will register where registration is required.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by others, by alteration of our work after completion, by rodent or water damage, or by conditions outside the agreed scope.
06 6. Payment
Payment terms are stated on the quote and agreed before work begins. Larger scopes may be staged against completed phases rather than invoiced in full at the end.
Invoices are due on the terms shown. Where a dispute arises about a line on an invoice, tell us which line and why, and that line is set aside while it is resolved rather than the whole invoice.
07 7. Emergency and Out-of-Hours Work
Emergency attendance carries a premium, which is stated to you before you agree to the visit.
On an emergency call the scope cannot be known in advance. We charge the attendance and diagnosis, tell you what we found, and price any repair separately. Advice given by phone before we attend, including which circuit to isolate, is given free and without obligation.
08 8. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Booked visits can be moved or cancelled without charge with reasonable notice. Where a visit has already been made and access could not be gained, an attendance charge may apply.
Where the utility disconnect for a service upgrade has been scheduled, moving the date depends on the utility as well as on us, and we will tell you what is possible rather than promise a date we do not control.
09 9. Access and Safety
You agree to provide safe access to the panel, the service entrance and the areas being worked on, and to tell us about anything relevant that we could not reasonably see, including previous unpermitted work.
We may stop work where continuing would be unsafe, including where a condition is found that must be corrected first. Where that happens we explain what has been found and what the options are before anything else is charged.
10 10. Liability
We are licensed and insured, and details are available on request. Our liability is limited to the work we carried out.
We are not liable for pre-existing conditions we did not create, for loss arising from work carried out by others, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11 11. Privacy
We collect only what is needed to quote, schedule and complete the work, and to meet permit and inspection requirements. We do not sell customer information.
Records of permitted work and inspection are retained as required. You may ask what we hold about you.
12 12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of the state in which the work is carried out, and any dispute is subject to the courts of that state.
13 13. Contact
Questions about these terms, or about a quote or invoice, should be raised with us directly on (613) 324-9141 or through the contact page. Raising a concern early is almost always cheaper for both sides than raising it late.
