Service area
Our main coverage area, and the one where booked work usually has the most availability. Everything we do goes through the same sequence: look at what is there, price it in writing, file the permit, book the inspection.
What we are called for
The first is capacity. A panel fills up, or a household adds something the existing service was never sized for, and suddenly nothing else can be added.
The second is a fault nobody has pinned down. Something trips, flickers or has stopped working, and it has usually been looked at once already. Tripping breaker diagnosis and flickering lights are the two most common versions, and both are diagnosis before they are repair.
The third is work driven by someone else: an insurer, a buyer or a lender who wants old wiring dealt with or a certificate produced. An electrical safety inspection is usually the cheapest first step there, because it turns an open question into a written scope.
How it runs
What trips, what has stopped working, or what you are adding. A photo of the panel label helps more than most people expect.
For anything touching the panel or the service, a visit and a load calculation come first. Photos do not settle capacity.
Itemized, with the permit named separately. Filed before work starts.
Circuits landed and labelled, inspection booked by us, certificate to you for your own records.
How booking works
Scheduled work is quoted before it is booked. We look at the panel and the route the work has to take, put the scope in writing with the permit as its own line, and only then agree a date. Nothing starts on a verbal number.
Emergencies cannot work that way, because the scope is not knowable until someone is standing in front of it. There we charge the diagnostic visit, tell you what we found, and price the repair separately. That is what a 24/7 emergency electrician should do rather than quoting blind over the phone.
A few things should not wait for a convenient slot: a burning smell, an outlet that is warm or discoloured, or a loss of power to part of the house with no obvious cause. Hot outlets and burning smells are a failing connection until proven otherwise.
Everything else is normal scheduling, and the rate is the same as in the other five areas. Where the job is large enough to need staging, we set that out in the scope rather than discovering it midway. Electrical installation lists everything we take on.

Written scope with the permit as a line item. Nothing appeared afterwards that was not on it.
Spent an hour tracing rather than guessing. Told us the cause before quoting the repair.
Labelled the whole panel, not just the circuits they added. First time it has been readable.
Called about a smell late evening. Honest about timing and arrived when they said they would.
